Mission

To foster a safe and inclusive academic community at GW where Jewish students, faculty, and staff can bring their whole selves to GW.

About Us

GW Faculty and Staff Against Antisemitism and Hate (GWUAH) was formed in response to the rise in antisemitism on college campuses, nationally and globally, in the aftermath of the Hamas-led attack in Israel on October 23, 2023.

Our group’s primary goals are to support Jewish students on campus and offer guidance to faculty, staff, and leadership on issues related to antisemitism that affect GW’s educational and research mission.

Our group includes colleagues from across the schools and units with shared concerns for the safety and well-being of all members of our University community.

We meet regularly to consider how to be helpful in sustaining the University’s commitment to core values; we confer with campus leaders of Hillel and other organizations as well as with colleagues who have formed similar groups at other institutions; and we participate in initiatives such as the Academic Engagement Network, which recently announced a partnership with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
